PRE-PATCHING ACTIVITIES
  1. Notify to all stakeholders
  1. Inform all relevant stakeholders about the planned patching schedule. 
  2. Confirm downtime (if required).

  1. Take Backups
  1. Ensure system and application backups are taken and verified.
  2. Snapshot the VM (if applicable).

  1. Checking System Requirements
    1. Verify disk space availability.
    2. Confirm system health (CPU, RAM utilization, services).

  1. Stop LinQ2 Application Service install one of the below server
    1. Wildfly
    2. Ibm websphere
    3. Oracle weblogic

  1. Download and Install Patches
    1. Waiting for the process to be completed

  1. Post-Patching Activities
    1. Reboot the server/workstation
    2. Ensure it comes back online without errors
    3. Verify LinQ2 Application Services
    4. Check that all applications/services are running.
    5. Confirm connectivity (e.g., database, telecom provider, oracle jms queue, ping, RDP, web services).
    6. Check application logs
    7. Verify application functionality with business users.

    1. On Auto Reboot
      1. Check the Db logs in the application logs.
      2. Database issue
    2. Unable to connect to services
      1. Contact the network team on verify the ports​​​​
    3. Invalid License
      1. Verify application license

  1. Rollback Plan
    1. If patching causes issues, roll back using:
    2. System backup/restore.
    3. VM snapshot restore.
    4. Application-specific recovery plan.


DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL PATCHES
            Waiting for the process to be completed.

POST-PATCHING ACTIVITIES
  1. Reboot the server/workstation.
  2. Ensure it comes back online without errors.
  3. Verify LinQ2 Application Services
  4. Check that all applications/services are running.
  5. Confirm connectivity (e.g., database, telecom provider, oracle jms queue, ping, RDP, web services).
  6. Check application logs
  7. Verify application functionality with business users.

APPLICATION VERIFICATION

  1. Login to Application
  2. Verify all services are up on the status monitor screen
  3. Validate each service by sending a message

FAILURE SCENARIOS
      On Auto Reboot
            Check the Db logs in the application logs.
            Database issue

      Unable to connect to services

            Contact the network team on verify the ports

      Invalid License
            Verify application license

      If patching causes issues, roll back using:
